Today Mom energy level hit a 10/10 high! On the contrary, I caught a cold today so I slept in the afternoon. Mom was busy moving around the room doing things! She even cooked noodles soup for us to eat! Wow, she is back to her old self again!
This page focuses on doing a post treatment interview with her for us to get deeper insights from her perspective. This page will be cumulation of our conversation over the next few days. 我病好了才翻译到中文。
Question #1: What is the best thing that happened to you throughout this process? Mom:The best thing that happened to me is to see my children spontaneously sit together to discuss my situation in a family meeting. Each of my children has taken a lead and participated actively in this entire process. I am very fortunate that my children and grandchildren gets along so well. Unlike other family, some of the children don't get along with each other. What is a family when we cannot get together, have a nice dinner, and help each other. No amount of money can buy this level of unity and relationship amongst the siblings and children. I have nothing more to ask for - this is more that what money. Of course money is important and useful. I encourage them to work hard and save enough money to have a good life. But not to make money as the central of our purpose. In my situation, we have the fund to afford to pay for this alternate treatment in Guangzhou (because insurance only pays for approved hospital care).
Question #2: What is the worst thing that happened to you throughout this process? Mom: When I was informed that after this NGPDT process I would still need to go through a surgical process to remove the dead tumor, this was the worst thing that happened to me. I thought that this process is non-invasive, no surgery is required. I understand the benefit of using surgery to remove the remains of the tumor cells to prevent any possibility of resurgence. However, I still thought that the NGPDT process had not set my expectation upfront.
Question #3: Having seen your daughter-in-law went through chemo and radio treatment for her breast cancer, and having gone through this NGPDT treatment for you own breast cancer, what do you think of NGPDT? Would you recommend it to others? Mom: Of course i don't suffer from hair loss, lost of appetite, or vomiting - this NGPDT process is definitely more comfortable. However, this is only the start of the process and we don't know if the tumor cells had been destroyed and the final outcome. I would need to return for a second treatment to determine if the tumor had been destroyed. Yes, this process is easier as compared to Kelly's.
Question #4: Has this process changed you in anyways? Through the last few years, and through the meditation center, I have already opened up my mind a lot. Perhaps this this cancer illness is caused by some old karma from my previous life. I will continue to do good in this life time to gather good karma. One thing I will change is my eating habits. I will avoid over-night re-heated food. Eat more fruits, vegetables. Eat less red-meats. Less high carbs food (noodles, rice, potatoes, starch).
Question #5 (From Mom to her children): Once you knew that I contracted breast cancer, what were you thinking and feeling at that moment? [I will post this to a new blog to seek responses from the rest of the children and grandchildren to respond]
Alex's response: Of course I was very worried (for the worst). I felt helpless. Immediately, I visualize for a clear image of a happy mother and free of illness and wish for a miracle solution. Coincidentally I met Dr Lim Eng Huat the very evening at a YPO event. That's when I was introduced to NGPDT as a remedy for cancer patient. Is this a coincidence? I dont know, but I found this treatment method credible and feasible. So... the next course is to consider how to explain and rationalization against all the empirical data and recommendation of Chemo, radiation and surgery treatment.
