During the NGPDT (or Chemotherapy for the matter), a patient liver would be working hard to detoxify the rid the body of any 'dead cells'. The tumor cells especially would be going through a necrosis (process of dying) process and the body's immune system would send the White Blood Cells and the NK Cells to do their work of killing and clearing the toxins.
My Mom has been taking this for the past 1 week. She is starting to experience stools that are jelly like. in the past 2 days, her stool are very soft and there is a need to go toilet rather frequently. I believe that this is an indication of the cleansing process.
25th Aug, 2011 (Update!!!) Lam Kam Sang company replied our query about the after-effect of taking this medication. They said that the stool will be lumpy and loose. This is due to the detoxification output from the body. It is a normal reaction.
Phew: That's is good. BTW: This LKS herb is to help our liver perform its detoxification better. The liver acts like a blood cleansing organ. I guess that's why we drink a lot of alcohol, which the body treats it as toxin, the liver goes into over-drive to clear the blood stream of the alcohol. So a cancer patient going through a treatment would need the liver to work very hard when there are lots of toxins (as a result of the necrosis of the tumor cells).
I explained to my Mom that if her car has been serviced with fresh engine oil, the cylinder in the engine runs much smoother. LKS herb is like adding new lubricant to the liver to allow it to function better in the detox process. :-) she understood - even through she is not very mechanically inclined person. Hmm.. next time I might want to use a different metaphor to explain this :-)
Its 22days since Mom started the Stem Cell Treatment process
The Stem Cell treatment was done in parallel with the NGPDT process. The doctors told me that Stem Cells will kick in after 10 days to start helping the body to supply "ammunition" to support the immune system.
In addition, i noticed that she is looking really rosy on her cheeks. And her skin is getting much smoother and youthful.
I will take a picture of her in the next few days to let you all see. NOTE: Mom said I should not take close up pics of her. Not pretty. Ai ya, I said she looks great at 70, looking like 60! he! he!
