It's been 30 days since my last visit to NGPDT. I feel normal since then. However, we are still trying to get a biopsy on my Tumor to determine if the cancer cellular activities has stopped. From NGPDT clinic, we were told that the NGPDT will cause the tumor cells to die as in the process of necrosis or apoptosis. However, how do we test to determine this? Without this test, we will never know what happens inside the tumor after NGPDT treatment.
Does anyone know of any lab or clinic that would take a biopsy to and dye the tissue sample to determine Necrosis and Apoptosis? Please suggest and help me if you know.
Petscan - may not tell if the tumor has stopped growing. The last Petscan showed higher SUVmax - which NGPDT doctors said that it's because of inflammation of the tumor.
Ultrasound - does not have the details to determine cellular metabolism. Only size of tumor.
Please help if you know of any procedure I can do now. I appreciate it tremendously.
